Description Heartline Staffing, strategic talent partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead inpatient surgical operations at a hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas. The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, staffing, budgeting, and strategic direction of all surgical departments. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director provides hands-on leadership across surgical services without an on-site manager, ensuring clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of all inpatient surgical departments - Lead staffing, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation - Ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards - Drive performance improvement initiatives across surgical services - Partner with executive leadership to support facility objectives - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient safety Surgical Services Overview: - 5 Operating Rooms - Approximately 4,000 cases annually - Service lines include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, GYN, Ophthalmology, Breast Surgery, and Robotics Compensation: Salary Range: $97,052 – $145,000 (based on years of experience) Incentive Bonus: 17.5% annual incentive Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis Requirements Education: - Bachelor’s degree required - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required - Master’s degree preferred Experience: - Minimum 3 years of applicable Surgical Services leadership experience required - Inpatient Operating Room experience required - Surgical Services Manager experience considered - Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) leadership experience considered Additional: - Strong operational, financial, and leadership skills - Ability to lead surgical services without an on-site manager - Experience overseeing multiple service lines and high surgical volume
