JOB SUMMARY The Director of Talent Acquisition develops and leads the overall talent acquisition strategy to attract, engage, and retain top talent across the organization. This role oversees recruitment operations, employer branding, candidate experience, workforce planning, and recruitment metrics. The Director will partner with senior leadership and hiring managers to ensure the organization has the right people in place to support business growth and long-term success. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Role Structure: Work with department heads to manage and update job descriptions for internal and external use Determine how department specific responsibilities are allocated and how they vary between positions Create and develop staffing proposal plans and budgets as well as identifying critical job titles and classifying jobs Identify organizations gaps and provide organizational design solutions to execute the talent acquisition strategy Strategic Leadership: Attend meetings with operations management to determine capacity needs that meet changing demands Support the planning of new locations or changes to plant infrastructure (occasional travel required) Identify the current workforce needs and forecast the future demands Analyze retention and turnover rates within the organization Develop and implement comprehensive and consistent strategies, tools, and processes related to workforce planning, scheduling, forecasting, and capacity & attrition management Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with business objectives Lead and manage a high-performing recruiting team, providing coaching, development, and performance feedback Partner with executives and department heads to forecast workforce needs and build scalable hiring solutions Design and manage structured career progression tracks for all major job families, ensuring clear growth pathways, internal mobility opportunities, and succession planning Collaborate with department heads and Learning & Development to align progression tracks with training programs, performance metrics, and leadership development initiatives Compensation Analysis: Develop and deliver a consistent compensation plan, using current market analysis, research, and department budgets Talent Acquisition: Manage all staffing needs, including forecasting, responding to needs with urgency, pre-screening applicants, facilitating phone and onsite interviews, and orchestrating offers Develop and deliver recruitment, sourcing, outreach, and engagement strategies to attract top talent Grow external sources such as college/campus recruiting, military and veteran programs, and government sponsored programs Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes for all levels, from entry-level to executive leadership Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies Employer Branding & Candidate Experience: Build and enhance the organization’s employer brand to attract top talent in competitive markets Ensure a positive and consistent candidate experience throughout the recruitment process Metrics & Reporting: Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on talent acquisition performance and market trends Ensure audit readiness by maintaining compliance with EEO, OFCCP, GDPR, and other requirements and by leveraging reporting features within ATS/HRIS platforms Collaboration & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with external partners such as staffing agencies, universities, and professional networks Collaborate with HR, Learning & Development, and business leaders to align talent strategies with employee retention and succession planning initiatives Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with colleges, universities, and trade schools to build a strong early-career talent pipeline Collaborate with academic institutions to coordinate internships, co-op programs, campus events, and career fairs that promote the company as an employer of choice Additional Tasks: Serve as a primary point of contact for management regarding recruiting issues and reporting Assess technology needs to support workforce management and capacity planning Train and supervise the recruiting team on company processes, policies, and daily operations Act as a coach and mentor to the talent acquisition team, recommending and monitoring professional development within the department KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Brings 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, including at least 5 years in a leadership role Is bilingual (Spanish and/or Creole preferred) Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills Possesses strong knowledge of recruiting technologies, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and HRIS platforms Applies knowledge of AI-powered sourcing and screening tools (HireVue, Paradox/Olivia, Eightfold.ai) to drive efficiency and enhance the candidate experience Builds and scales recruitment strategies in a fast-paced environment with proven success Exhibits exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices Facilitates and creates Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, charts, and graphs for reporting purposes Exercises good judgment and upholds ethical standards in a variety of situations WORKING CONDITIONS The role is performed primarily in a professional office environment, involving frequent use of computers, phones, video conferencing, and other standard office equipment The Director will occasionally visit production and packaging facilities to meet with operations and plant leadership, which may involve exposure to cold or refrigerated environments, wet floors, and moderate noise levels typical of food processing areas Occasional travel (10–20%) to other Pero Family Farms facilities, job fairs, universities, and recruitment events may be required, including air and ground transportation and occasional overnight stays The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines and may occasionally involve extended hours or weekend work to meet business needs PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, speak clearly, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and office equipment Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required, especially during site visits or event participation Must be able to lift to 20 pounds
