Eastgate Academy is seeking a Director of Teaching and Learning to serve as the school’s senior academic administrator and leader. Collegial, collaborative and student-focused, the successful applicant will be an accredited teacher with a track record of success as a teacher and administrator. Experience and leadership within the International Baccalaureate is important, as is the capacity to research, develop, and implement integrated academic pathways for our growing school.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES

  • Master’s degree in administration, leadership, curriculum or other related area
  • Hold or be eligible for a Canadian provincial Teachers’ Certificate
  • A minimum of 10 year’s teaching experience including five years of leadership experience preferred

Additional preferred attributes:

  • Private/independent school teaching and/or leadership experience
  • IB PYP, MYP and/or DP experience
  • Experience in program development
  • Experience with CAIS membership application process
  • Fluency in English and facility in French

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Director of Teaching and Learning is to develop the capacity, skills and school culture to engage and inspire a learning community that fosters student achievement in a safe and caring environment. The Director is accountable for the overall leadership, management, and development of the curricular and co-curricular life of the school according to Eastgate Academy’s mission and vision.
