DIRECTOR OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND STUDENT LIFE

RCS is seeking an academic leader to manage the school’s academic programs and student life experience. This role involves operational oversight to ensure academic programs run smoothly while ensuring a culture of care for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students, teachers and counsellors for academic performance and responsibility for behavior
  • Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation of instructional programs, emergency procedures and discipline systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate
  • Ensure a vibrant after school co-curricular program
  • Represent Royal Crown School in interactions with Parents, Students, and other Stakeholders
  • Observe teaching staff through evaluating lesson plans and observing classes to ensure quality instructional practice and student learning
  • Monitor the implementation of curriculum and ensure conformity to Ministry of Education standards
  • Oversee Department Heads and Instructional Leaders in the development of curriculum and teaching practice at the Middle and High School Levels.
  • Ensure effective counseling program
  • Research and collect data regarding student needs
  • Track student achievement in ongoing manner
  • Maintain school calendar and teaching schedules
  • Coordinate substitute teaching and replace teachers when needed
  • Ensure students adhere to uniform, attendance, late and comportment policies and practice; execute student progressive discipline policy
  • Ensure that student records are complete, current and protected
  • Assist with recruitment of local students
  • Coordinating materials and processes for Ministry Inspections
  • Responsible for ONSIS and related MOE submissions
  • Assist with Class scheduling
  • Promote a culture of care among students and staff
  • Communicate regularly with parents
  • Complete other tasks as assigned
