Description Summary: The Director of Technology and Innovation (Director) creates, leads, and supports a shared vision for technology integration and support, and its alignment with the school’s mission, values, and goals. The Director oversees the team and its work, school-wide technology (IT network and systems), and instructional technology supporting strong academic outcomes and the social-emotional development of all students. In cooperation with the school principals and other administration, the director plays a lead role in implementing the instructional strategies for our established K4-12th grade programs. Essential Function: Leadership · Lead the technology team and manage and support each team member in their respective daily work. · Help to develop and implement the school’s vision for technology in collaboration with the school’s senior leadership, administration, operations, and instructional team members. · Help to develop and communicate a shared vision for instructional and operational technology that aligns with the school’s mission and garners stakeholder support. · Implement and sustain the school’s technology plan, ensuring effective integration across teaching, learning, and operations. · Empower and develop school technology leaders by modeling innovative practices and supporting staff in leading transformational change. · Ensure that staff and students have access to the appropriate technology tools for productivity, teaching, learning, and operations; identify ways to provide or support access where needed. · Stay current with emerging technologies and collaborate with school leaders to identify instructional needs and provide frontline support. · Provide support, guidance, and training on all instructional technology systems, including Google Education tools, Canvas, and integrated third-party applications (Workshops, telephone support, classroom observations, walk-in support, etc.). · Support Apple products and encourage their use in creative and innovative ways. · Assist Orangewood in maintaining a presence within national and international technology communities. Technology Integration Instructional Technology · Curriculum framework: Align digital curricula with content standards and digital age learning and provide additional frameworks where needed to support effective instruction. · Student-centered and inclusive learning: Promote the use of technology in planning, teaching, and assessment in ways that meet the diverse needs and abilities of Orangewood’s students. · Ongoing professional development: Model and provide staff with ongoing access to technology-related professional development, as well as opportunities to practice skills and share successful practices. · Assessment and evaluation: continually assess the ways that instructional staff are using digital resources to support and enhance teaching, learning, and leadership. · Support policies: enact policies that provide accountability measures and incentive structures to support the appropriate and timely use of instructional technology for learning. Technical Support · Oversee technical network and systems, and the team that supports them. · Possess some familiarity with the following programs: FACTS, ClassLink, Lightspeed Relay, Canvas, SeeSaw, and Finalsite. · Familiarity with Windows servers and domain management, including Active Directory. · Be proficient in mobile device management systems such as JAMF. Supplemental Functions: · Drawing from one’s calling, use their personal gifts and talents to further the Kingdom of God. · Serve as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus to the school community and beyond, through actions, speech, and attitude. · Perform other duties, as assigned. Requirements Preferred Education Requirement: Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, IT/Computer Science, or related field preferred Certification(s) Preferred: Apple Distinguished Educator or Apple Learning Coach Years of Experience: 5 years or greater
