POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Technology & Digital Platforms is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of all technology systems, ensuring they align with SkillsUSA’s mission to empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members. This role will build the organization’s IT team and will collaborate heavily with external contractors in developing technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, custom apps for the organization, and support operations, ensuring that all systems are efficient, secure, and scalable. This position will also spearhead software selection, training, and deployment initiatives that optimize organizational performance, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSE OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required, with a master’s degree or relevant certification preferred. Candidates should have at least eight years of progressive IT experience, including three or more years in IT management or leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing IT contractors, implementing software solutions, and optimizing technology portfolios. Expertise in Salesforce CRM and development, cybersecurity, cloud services, and database systems is essential, along with familiarity with data protection laws and compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA. Proven project management skills, including vendor negotiations, budget oversight, and adherence to timelines, are required. Experience in AI research, policy development, or the implementation of AI tools in a business setting is a plus.
