Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Director of Technology will lead the company?s technology strategy, overseeing all aspects of our digital systems, software platforms, and infrastructure that power both our internal operations and student learning experience. This includes our custom customer management system (CRM) and learning management system (LMS) platforms. These platforms are hosted on AWS and built with Angular 9 (frontend) and PHP 7.4 Laravel 7/7.30.4 (backend), supported by MySQL 5.7 and PostgreSQL 10 databases. The CTO will work closely with executive leadership to evolve our digital tools, ensure cybersecurity, and deliver scalable, reliable performance that support student engagement, instructor delivery, and business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and execute a forward-thinking technology roadmap that aligns with The Training Center?s strategic growth goals.
  • Lead technical architecture and ongoing development of the CRM and LMS platforms.
  • Manage database infrastructure (MySQL 5.7, PostgreSQL 10) and web servers (Apache 2.4) across our AWS-hosted environment.
  • Ensure seamless, secure access and performance of digital platforms supporting student registration, instruction, certification tracking, and communications.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor technical team members; manage outside development vendors when needed.
  • Establish clear coding, security, and DevOps standards to ensure software quality and data protection.
  • Collaborate with training, operations, and marketing teams to understand user needs and deliver tech-driven solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate modern tools to improve student learning, operational efficiency, and platform scalability.
