Overview: The Director of Development and Training is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing the employee learning and professional growth programs for the organization.  This position focuses on aligning employee development with the company's strategic goals to improve performance, productivity, and retention. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and execute a comprehensive training and development strategy that supports business objectives. This includes identifying skill gaps, forecasting future training needs, and designing programs to address them. * Oversee the design, development, and delivery of all training initiatives. This can range from onboarding new hires and leadership development to technical skills training and compliance workshops. * Manage the training budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize the impact of development programs. * Conduct needs assessments for various levels of roles in the organization to identify training needs  * Lead and mentor a team of trainers, instructional designers, and other learning professionals. * Project management of multiple complex projects with the ability to meet deadlines * Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs and report on their return on investment (ROI). * Select and manage external training vendors, consultants, and e-learning platforms. Preferred Qualifications: * 7+ years experience within a corporate training environment, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role. A master's degree in a relevant field like human resources, organizational development, or adult education is often preferred. * 3+ years of management experience with strong leadership and people management skills are essential for guiding a team and influencing stakeholders. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to articulate strategy, present findings, and collaborate with all levels of the organization. * The ability to analyze data and use metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions. *  A deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and current trends in learning technology (e.g., e-learning, gamification, virtual reality). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. * Frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 15 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. * Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
