POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Transportation is responsible for leading and improving the company’s transportation network across two primary areas: farm operations (live haul, hatchery, feed haul) and finished goods operations (delivery, garage, fleet management). While candidates may bring deeper expertise in one of these areas, the role requires experience and leadership capability across both. This position ensures safety, service, performance, and cost efficiency while advancing best practices and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 7–10 years in logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership
• Experience with refrigerated and/or live animal transportation required
• Proven success in leading high-volume operations (100+ truckloads per week)
• Class A CDL preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills in modeling, forecasting, and performance reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/transportation management systems
• Demonstrated leadership experience with coaching, team development, and performance management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective presenter and negotiator
• Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
