Description

Eyeline Studios is seeking an accomplished Director of VFX Production to lead our Vancouver-based team through all stages of VFX project delivery, from pre-production to final handoff. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for the strategic, creative, and operational success of the studio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a dynamic, people-oriented leader with over ten years of hands-on VFX production management experience within a studio or production company. The ideal candidate has deep experience producing and leading in the Canadian market and a strong ability to collaborate with global teams. You will oversee production operations, mentor regional staff, manage client relationships, and champion innovative workflows for continuous improvement and operational excellence at Eyeline.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of experience in VFX production management roles, ideally within a studio or VFX production company, with proven leadership of large teams (50+ people)
  • Thorough understanding of production and post production processes, and the knowledge of the broader US film and series ecosystem
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and resource management skills, with a track record of overseeing multiple complex project schedules
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem solving abilities; able to make proactive decisions and drive continuous improvement under pressure
  • People oriented leader, adept at mentoring, fostering teamwork, and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
    This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all active productions in Vancouver, ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule. Serve as the primary escalation point for VFX project issues
  • Analyze cost report metrics and title schedules, offering data driven recommendations to improve efficiency and ensure on-time delivery
  • Guide resource allocation and title prioritization across all active projects in Vancouver
  • Supervise and mentor regional production staff, providing training and fostering company culture
  • Guide the technology training team to develop curricula that advance artist skills and support adoption of generative workflows
  • Liaise with Netflix title managers to align business objectives with production goals. Partner with internal and external teams to support diverse global projects
  • Collaborate with global VFX Production leaders in Seoul and Hyderabad to maintain consistent standards and efficiency across regions. Identify workflow gaps and automation opportunities; work with technical teams to implement effective solutions
