Position Summary: The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for oversight and management of all Connecticut Foodshare warehouse operations staff, inventory control, and establishment of and conformance to systems, policies, and procedures. This role oversees, manages, and monitors receiving, storage, selecting, evaluation/sortation of donated product, loading, and order fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement and maximizing efficiencies. Additionally, this role is responsible for staff development. Reports to the Sr. Director of Warehouse Operations. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: Primary Responsibilities: Organizes and supervises daily warehouse operations of Connecticut Foodshare to ensure productivity targets are met. Ensures the efficient operation of receiving, storing, selecting, evaluation/sortation of donated product, and order fulfillment functions and that all materials and supplies are safeguarded and secured. Intentionally promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and builds a positive work culture and environment. Manages inventory control systems and receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory. Develops and/or implements systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accordance with codes, regulations and standards of all reporting authorities. Manages and maintains all power equipment. Works with the team to develop, implement, and enforce warehouse and logistics operation systems that create more efficiencies, “great” service, and “good food" quality. Establishes, follows, and enforces food safety and workplace safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements. Promotes a culture of safety in all daily activities. Manages the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to all services, activities, and operations related to the warehouse. Recommends annual and long-range operations goals and objectives including budget projections and strategic forecasting of capital expenditures. Coordinates use of computer systems to maximize efficiency and provide accurate and detailed reports. Recruits, trains, and supervises warehouse operations staff with a focus on employee development and succession planning. Follows appropriate procedures for food collection and distribution, including all health and safety regulations for food handling. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field with 5 years of related experience in a similar or related function in comparable environment OR 7 years of related experience in a similar or related function in comparable environment. 2 years of management experience. Experience in warehouse operations management, logistics, or supply chains. Experience working with inventory control systems. Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field with 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in a similar or related function OR 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a similar or related function. 5 years of management experience Experience with Lean 6 Sigma.
