Description

Req ID:485291
At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Could you be the full-time Director operations procurement (f/m/d) we’re looking for?

Responsibilities

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

You will focus on procurement organizations for Mainline and LRV sites, including locations in Hennigsdorf, Salzgitter, Bautzen, Görlitz, and coordination in Vienna. Our Rolling Stock & Components product line offers the most extensive portfolio in the rail industry. We prioritize innovation in green and smart solutions, such as emission-free propulsion systems like batteries and hydrogen. You will report to the Procurement Director CNE and lead a dedicated team of four direct reports and one dotted report.

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in lean management methodology
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, compliance, and regulations, including knowledge of the Alstom code of ethics.
  • Experience in team management and development, with a focus on multicultural environments and talent coaching.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions
