You will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, ensuring human capital risks and employee impacts are proactively identified and aligned to organizational strategy. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR leader who thrives in complexity, brings strong risk and governance expertise, and can influence decision-making at the highest levels while driving meaningful business outcomes.  This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Chief People Officer. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands    How You'll Make an Impact:  * Leading people-related due diligence activities for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships  * Assessing human capital risks including workforce structure, culture, compensation, benefits, labour relations, and compliance  * Developing and executing people integration strategies following transactions  * Partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Enterprise Risk, and Corporate Development to inform decisions and mitigate risk  * Driving enterprise-wide People & Culture strategic initiatives aligned to business priorities  * Embedding risk, compliance, and governance practices across People & Culture programs  * Overseeing regulatory compliance with employment standards, labour legislation, and human rights obligations across Canada  * Leading audit activities, regulatory reviews, and reporting to governing bodies  * Providing thought leadership and advisory support to executive leadership on people risk and complex organizational changes  * Coordinating and delivering People & Culture Board and Committee reporting and governance processes    What You’ll Bring to the Team:  * A postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field  * 15–20 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, people risk, or a related field within large, complex organizations  * At least 5 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in a regulated or financial services environment  * Demonstrated experience leading HR due diligence and post-integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures  * Strong knowledge of employment legislation, labour relations, governance, and regulatory compliance frameworks  * Proven ability to influence senior leaders and provide strategic advisory support in high-impact environments  * Experience working with Boards and preparing executive-level reporting and insights  * Strong analytical, risk management, and strategic planning capabilities  * A CHRP or similar professional designation is considered an asset    Extra Skills That Set You Apart:   * Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries  * Expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks and governance structures  * Background in leading large-scale transformation or culture change initiatives    You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:   * Strategic Leader – Able to connect people risk, business priorities, and long-term organizational success  * Influential Advisor – Builds credibility and effectively guides executive decision-making  * Risk-Savvy Thinker – Anticipates and mitigates complex people and regulatory risks  * Collaborative Partner – Works cross-functionally to achieve aligned outcomes in a matrix environment  * Adaptable Change Agent – Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and leads through uncertainty     We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.       What You’ll Earn:  This role offers a salary range of $141,900 to $183,600 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity.
