The Opportunity We’re seeing an experienced investment governance professional to join our Portfolio Risk team as a Director, Portfolio Governance based in Melbourne for a 12-month non-ongoing role. We’ll also consider a Manager level candidate with the right skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels. The role sits within the Portfolio Risk Team, a first line risk function embedded in Investments. The team focuses on the risks associated with investment judgement, discretionary decision making and portfolio exposures, as well as governance of investment processes and controls. You will work at the intersection of investment governance, risk frameworks and portfolio oversight, partnering closely with senior leaders across Investments, Legal & Risk, and Investment Operations. As a small, highly trusted team, flexibility and strong judgement are key. Key Responsibilities As Director, Portfolio Governance, your focus will include: Investment governance and frameworks - providing guidance on investment decision making processes, governance structures, delegations and controls, balancing operational efficiency with robust risk management. Policies and documentation - developing, maintaining and uplifting investment policies, frameworks and supporting documentation across the Investments function. Whole of portfolio risk oversight - identifying key portfolio level risks, understanding interactions across asset classes and strategies, and supporting a joined up, total portfolio approach. Portfolio risk assessment and reporting - leading the development of portfolio risk evaluation approaches and contributing to clear, decision useful risk reporting for senior management and the Board. Collaboration and leadership - building strong relationships across the Investments team, influencing through expertise and judgement, and contributing to a risk aware, high performing culture. About You We’re looking for a senior investment or risk professional with strong credibility and the confidence to engage with complex, judgement based decisions. The following skills and experience are required: Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in investment governance, portfolio risk, investment management or a closely related area Strong understanding of investment decision making and processes, for multi asset portfolios. Experience with investment strategies and portfolio construction is desirable. Experience designing or operating governance frameworks, policies and controls in an investment environment Ability to distil complex investment and risk issues into clear, concise and practical guidance Proven capability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, commerce, law or a related discipline (post graduate or professional accreditation desirable) Please note that the opportunity is open to Australian citizens only We Are For Everyone At Future Fund, we are better for our differences.
