Reporting to the AVP, Pricing Lead
Context
L’Oréal USA is establishing a new, multi-division Pricing organization under the North America CFO, crucial for the upcoming NEO system implementation and “The Way We Trade” initiative. This aims to significantly reduce customer disputes, enhance efficiency, and improve data quality.
This Director role offers a unique opportunity to build and lead a foundational team, driving change and partnering across multiple key stakeholders. You will foster the harmonization of Gross-to-Net (G2N) transaction management across multi-division retailers, ensuring conditions align with commercial policy and acting as a business-oriented partner to build client advantages. The scope will progressively evolve as more divisions integrate into the full S4/NEO environment.

What You Will Do

  • NEO Go-Live & Discount System Integration
  • Oversee the strategic preparation and execution for the successful integration of all discount-related processes and structures within the new NEO system.
  • Collaborate closely with the dedicated NEO project team and cross-functional partners (Finance, KAM/Sales, IT,…) to ensure accurate system configuration, data integrity, and a smooth transition for discount management.
  • Oversee system functionality validation, data migration, and support training initiatives.
  • Build and Lead a High-Performing Multi-Division Discount Team
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a new, business-oriented multi-division discount team responsible for the end-to-end management and settlement of discounts for L’Oréal USA’s multi-division retailers.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement within the team, with strong collaboration with the Director, Operational Excellence.
  • Oversee Multi-Division Discount Management & Compliance
  • Ensure the accurate application of client contracts and the quality of On/Off-Invoice pricing for multi-division retailers.
  • Serve as the primary pricing reference for L’Oréal USA’s multi-division retailers, ensuring effective communication and alignment for pricing conformity and optimization.
  • Guarantee strict compliance with internal controls, regulations, and “The Way We Trade” standards, particularly regarding P&L liability.
  • Work closely with Credit and Deduction teams to monitor aged balances, managing and justifying provisions, and locking contracts once all deductions are matched.
  • Proactively address and resolve pricing discrepancies and disputes, minimizing financial impact and strengthening customer partnerships.
  • Manage daily relationships with key internal stakeholders across KAM/Sales, Customer Service, Controlling Commercial, Deduction team,….
  • Drive Strategic Impact & Reporting Quality
  • Be a force of proposal, ensuring conditions align with divisional commercial policy and challenging if needed.
  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs including untouched orders, client deduction amounts, simplification of conditions, …
  • Ensure high-quality G2N reporting for each Division, aligning with “The Way We Trade” principles.

What We Are Looking For

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant Master’s degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, pricing, or commercial operations, with proven experience in leading and developing teams.
  • A strategic, data-driven problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, capable of translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of G2N and its P&L implications.
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP systems, enabling effective navigation and leverage of the system.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for complex analysis, large datasets, and dynamic reporting.
  • Expertise in commercial policy, client contract management, and business principles, ensuring pricing strategies align with objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with technical and non-technical audiences across all levels. You thrive in customer-facing environments; prior experience in Customer Service, Order-to-Cash, or Master Data Management is a plus, associated with a Finance experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, demonstrating strong organization, commitment to deadlines, and composure under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to driving change and transformation.
