Description

We’re looking for a seasoned pricing leader to join our APAC team as Director – Pricing & Rates Card Management. This role will lead two specialist teams—RFQ Pricing & Tender Management and Rate Card & FAK Management—to drive pricing excellence across our Air and Ocean Freight business in the region.
You’ll play a critical role in shaping our pricing strategy, ensuring smooth collaboration between pricing, procurement, sales, and operations, and providing insights that help us stay competitive while protecting our margins.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead, coach, and develop two teams through their respective managers—covering end-to-end RFQ pricing and rate card/FAK management.
  • Define and implement an APAC pricing framework across RFQs, rate cards, FAK structures, and surcharges (e.g. BAF, PSS).
  • Set up regular governance forums to review rates, align across teams, and ensure system integrity.
  • Support the RFQ Pricing Manager in delivering a reliable, data-driven pricing process—from procurement inputs to final bid analysis.
  • Review pricing submissions and gap-to-target reports, including recommendations for tactical repricing.
  • Oversee the maintenance of rate cards, ensuring timely updates of key surcharges.
  • Ensure accurate, timely handover of rates to Operations for execution.
  • Monitor market shifts and update surcharges in line with carrier announcements.
  • Translate shipping line FAK offers into our internal template and publish them in the Tariff & Tiers portal for easy access.
  • Ensure consistency in version control and compliance with margin guidelines.
  • Drive adoption and integration of pricing tools (CPQ, RFQ systems, Tariff & Tiers).
  • Act as a key partner to Procurement, Sales, Operations, Digital/IT, and Regional Leadership.
  • Track and report KPIs: RFQ win rates, margin achievement, rate timeliness, and tool usage.
  • Build and share executive dashboards and heatmaps to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Proven years of experience in pricing within freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping.
  • Strong grasp of air freight (AFR) & ocean freight (OFR) cost structures and margin mechanics.
  • Proven leadership experience—either leading a team or a cross-functional project.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros), and experience with pricing/CPQ tools.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with excellent documentation habits.
  • Analytical mindset; comfortable running gap analyses and pricing scenarios under tight timelines.
  • Strong communicator who can influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized and quality-focused, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
