WHO WE ARE

Transport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system. We connect people, communities and industry every day.

Responsibilities

THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF PROCUREMENT AT TFNSW. AS WE EMBED A NEW OPERATING MODEL, YOU’LL PLAY A KEY LEADERSHIP ROLE IN DRIVING REFORM AND INNOVATION ACROSS ALL PROCUREMENT FUNCTIONS AT ONE OF THE LARGEST PROCURING AGENCIES IN THE COUNTRY.

As Director, Procurement Assurance & Compliance, you will lead a team through this transformation — building a culture of compliance, procurement excellence, continuous improvement, risk awareness, and sustainability. You will ensure TfNSW’s procurement operations meet the highest standards while supporting ethical and strategic procurement outcomes.
We’re looking for a self-driven, motivated, and independent leader who thrives in complexity and brings energy, credibility, and determination to challenging environments. You’ll be excited by the opportunity to build, influence, and lead at scale.
Your leadership will directly contribute to delivering greater public value, strengthening governance, and achieving the outcomes that matter most to the people and communities of NSW.

IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL:

  • Lead the transformation of procurement assurance and compliance processes TfNSW, identifying gaps and designing fit-for-purpose processes.
  • Establish and embed robust procurement assurance frameworks, with ongoing monitoring and reporting across all divisions to mitigate procurement risks.
  • Promote ethical standards in procurement, including measures to address modern slavery, fraud, corruption prevention, Indigenous procurement, and ESG performance
  • Represent TfNSW in forums and committees, providing leadership and oversight for governance-related initiatives.
  • Build, grow, and lead a team of procurement professionals — striking a balance between regulatory compliance and the delivery of efficient, agile, and user-friendly procurement processes.
  • Develop and oversee an assurance testing program to monitor compliance, performance, and risk management across the full procurement lifecycle
This is an ongoing Transport Senior Service Executive (1B) role. Please see the role description and Information Pack for more information
