QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing management, along with a proven track record in core B2B marketing skill sets such as writing, business case building, and campaign development.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, successfully managing and developing large, high-performing product marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure and optimize marketing outcomes, using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, with a hands-on approach and willingness to dive into details.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Product Marketing to lead our B2B product marketing team. The ideal candidate will be a “player coach” who is a stronger writer and presenter, possesses a deep understanding of B2B marketing strategies, along with a robust background in product marketing management (PMM). With a proven track record in team development and measurable success, this leader will drive our product marketing efforts through a period of significant investment and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing product marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Define and implement product marketing plans that align with business objectives and drive growth.
  • As part of a small group of leaders, establish and execute the company’s long term B2B investment and growth plans

Market Analysis and Positioning:

  • In collaboration with research, conduct thorough user and market research to understand customer needs that informs product strategy, segmentation and go-to-market strategies
  • Develop clear product positioning and messaging that differentiates our offerings in the market.

Product Launch and Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Oversee successful product launches, ensuring strategies are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and customer success, to ensure alignment and optimal market entry.

Performance Measurement and Optimization:

  • Establish metrics for product marketing success and measure outcomes against goals.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and achieve measurable improvements in performance.

Team Development:

  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering career growth and skill development.
  • Build a culture that encourages creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Hands-On Execution:

  • Be willing to “roll up your sleeves” and contribute directly to projects when necessary, demonstrating a scrappy, can-do attitude.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Lock arms with Product Management to ensure close and productive team relationships in PMM:PM pairs, leading by example.
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and communication of marketing initiatives and results.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for product marketing and B2B partners within the organization.
