SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five+ years of education and/or experience in law, human resources, adult education or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading recruitment, performance management, professional development and engagement initiatives, with a current, hands-on understanding of best practices and a coaching based leadership style.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professional judgment, confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and discretion at all times.
  • Prior experience in a high-performance, dynamic, complex, and nuanced Professional Services environment would be considered an asset

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy and execution of associate lawyer recruitment, development and retention, ensuring alignment with the firm’s culture, business goals and career development framework.
  • Foster a high-performance, client focused culture by coaching associate lawyers, and embedding best practices for professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Manage and execute the performance review process for associate lawyers, with a focus on consistency, fairness and transparency.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to firm leadership that support business objectives, while managing and developing two team members within the professional talent function.
