Description
Develops, implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. As the Director of Supplier Quality Engineering on the Global Operations Quality & Safety you will be responsible to: 1. Lead teams that prioritize and resolve supplier quality issues impacting customer fabs (FQM team) and Lam Manufacturing (Factory Support team) Implement quality best known methods within SET & suppliers Establish & strengthen the quality culture within SET & suppliers; adjust the culture from current focus on reactive fire-fighting to more problem prevention Develop 5-year strategic plan for Supplier Quality organization Establish & refine Supplier Quality policies and procedures Strengthen problem solving (RCCA 8D/5 Why) within SET, suppliers and GOps Review supplier mfg. & QMS, diagnose weaknesses and suggest improvements Champion proactive quality - PFMEA, SPC, capability studies, mistake proofing, RPA (recurrence prevention alerts) QE methods / Lean Sig Sigma coaching Role model Lam Core values Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 8 - 10 years of related experience and 5+ years in mgmt. An advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated experience (15+ years) applying advanced quality methods to improve quality and reduce variability within a manufacturing environment Ability to communicate and influence Demonstrated ability to collaborate on cross functional teams Curious mindset, passion for quality ideas and the ability to drive innovative change Experience managing quality engineers (direct & matrix) Adept creating & delivering effective presentations to executive staff on quality topics and/or escalations PREFERRED - Experience leading a quality team/function; experience with supply chain in semiconductor industry; engineering degree (EE, ME, IE, etc.)
