Acute Care Alberta (ACA) Operational Oversight and Coordination team is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director to lead and support real time data reporting to interested parties internal and external to ACA. The position is preferably located in Calgary, Alberta, although flexible on location. This position reports directly to the Senior Lead, and is accountable for providing the direction and leadership to maximize performance, manage change, and meet service standards while supporting the vision, mission, and goals of ACA . The role requires the ability to effectively develop direct team members and work with key data teams and senior leaders. Your demonstrated excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills help you develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, key internal and external partners, and committees you collaborate with to meet organizational goals and support our Health Service Delivery Organizations.
Description:

The Director, Real Time Acute Care Performance and Reporting, is a senior provincial leadership role within the Operational Oversight and Care Coordination portfolio of Acute Care Alberta (ACA). Reporting to the Senior Lead, this position provides strategic direction and expert oversight of real-time analytics, performance intelligence and reporting functions, ensuring alignment with provincial health priorities and transformative change. Leveraging deep expertise in health systems and data science, the Director leads the development and execution of innovative strategies that enhance system responsiveness, mitigate risk, and optimize patient outcomes across Ministries, and for Health Services Delivery Organizations (HSDOs). As a recognized subject matter expert, the Director leads a multidisciplinary provincial team, navigates complex challenges, and contributes to shaping the future of acute care delivery in Alberta. They are responsible for the provincial real-time inventory and reporting related to patient flow across acute care services, including across HSDOs and Emergency Health Services (EHS). They are also responsible for leading the development of reporting standards and requirements for oversight of capacity management for the Ministry, including coordination of utilization reporting from the HSDOs and EHS. The Director proactively leads continuous system analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, collaborating with Government Ministries, ACA Senior Leaders, HSDOs and cross-sector partners to co-create scalable, evidence-based strategies and solutions. This role requires a high level of independence, integration and partnership across internal and external parties. The Director will develop public and government facing strategies for provincial Hospital Capacity.
