Our full-service diploma completion programs can be delivered in facility-based, blended, or fully online settings. These programs are supported with recruiting, transcript analysis, technology, coaching and mentoring, and robust support services.

DIRECTOR, REGULATORY AFFAIRS AND COMPLIANCE

Graduation Alliance is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our team. The responsibilities of the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance include gathering and comparing state specific resources, monitoring compliance with contractual, federal, and state regulations, and recommending improvements to our internal control structure based on critical learnings. The Director of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance provides support to internal cross-functional team members to contribute to the overall goal of providing excellent service to schools and clients.
To be qualified for this position, an applicant must exhibit excellent attention to detail, analytical, and multitasking skills. In addition, Graduation Alliance is seeking an objective individual that possesses in-depth working knowledge of various governing agencies, including school boards, state education departments, and higher education institutions. Experience in the educational technology industry is required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field,
  • Experience with public school laws and regulations, AND
  • Seven (7) years of virtual school operations experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
    Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Responsibilities

DIRECTOR, REGULATORY COMPLIANCE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and utilizes knowledge of individual state compliance requirements, including statute, rules, state reporting requirements, and state department communication to consult with internal department leaders to ensure programs adhere to the requirements;
  • Update and maintain compliance frameworks based on new learnings or updated regulatory requirements;
  • Examine and analyze records, reports, operating practices, and documentation to strengthen internal control;
  • Communicate funding rules and align methodology for program billing;
  • Construct contract language aligned to program and funding rules;
  • Monitor, update, and develop state aligned Policy and Operations Program Manuals for new program partners;
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Internal Review to ensure internal corrective actions plans are effectively implemented and programs remain compliant;
  • Assist with internal audits, documenting audit tests and findings;
  • Report on the current state of compliance regarding laws and regulations through elaborated reports;
  • Identify and communicate training needs to the appropriate department leads;
  • Influences others to accept new practices, concepts and approaches in operations and compliance;
  • Provide solutions to complex and challenging financial, data, and systems problems;
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate regulation and related program information in a timely manner;
  • Act as support for external audit requests through careful coordination of data requirements.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
