Salary Range: $76.31 - $89.74 /hour
The Director, Research Operations and Strategy will lead operationalization of the strategic direction of research and innovation at St. Joseph’s Health Care & Lawson Research Institute. They will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of key research initiatives including but not limited to a research facilities management plan, an innovation and commercialization strategy, a sustainable operations plan for vivarium services, and a personnel management plan that includes clear role responsibilities and performance monitoring for scientists and research staff and supports the development of leadership and mentorship strategies that will support the next generation of Lawson Scientists. The Director will oversee efficient operation of research projects including budget allocation and will ensure that all research operations comply with institutional, governmental and ethical standards and regulations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in related field required (Business or Health focus preferred)
  • 8 to 10 years leadership experience, preferably in a progressively more responsible program related leadership position(s)
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience and understanding in a healthcare-related discipline, and or health research)
  • Exceptional analytical skills that contribute to effective decision-making and be self-directed, courageous, and highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, dynamic and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management practices including strategic and operational planning, performance, project, and change management, and education and research activities
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and influence at senior levels in the organization. Demonstrated computer skills with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Teams & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset.

  • St. Joseph’s Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph’s, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
