From your first day to your next career milestone—your experience matters How you’ll contribute Director is responsible for development/administration of Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and Staff Development activities throughout the hospital to ensure that all state, federal, TJC standards for care consistently met. Collects and analyzes data on hospital performance, incidents, and documentation to improve hospital performance and ensure provision of quality care. Works closely with all Department Director’s to recommend/provide required staff development and tailored programs based upon data analysis. Monitors, investigates, and as required, reports all hospital incidents. Essential Functions: Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Routes incoming mail promptly and to the correct departments or individuals. Maintains awareness of highly confidential and/or important documents received at the hospital (as assigned). Assure lobby area is clean and presentable, with appropriate beverages and snacks for patients and visitors. Assists Assessment and other departments as required. Offers assistance to the Business Development/Community Relations Department with respect to special projects and community involvement. Able to maintain professionalism in a variety of stressful situations.
