How you’ll make an impact in this role Lead emergency readiness by directing the Environment of Care (EC) and Safety programs, ensuring our facility is resilient and prepared to respond instantly to any crisis or incident. Champion a culture of safety by proactively identifying workplace hazards, conducting root-cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions to eliminate risks before they impact patients or staff. Translate complex regulations (such as OSHA and Joint Commission standards) into clear, actionable internal policies that keep our facility safe, compliant, and operating at the highest standard. Empower and educate healthcare teams by designing engaging training programs that equip staff with the practical knowledge to detect, mitigate, and avoid workplace hazards. Inspire and develop a high-performing team through intentional hiring, continuous mentorship, and supportive leadership, fostering a collaborative environment focused on safety excellence. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Certification specializing in Health Safety credentialed from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Professional Certification specializing in Hospital Risk Mgmt. credentialed from the American Hospital Association Certification Center (AHA-CC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certification credentialed from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional. Emergency Management credentialed from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Completion of courses 100, 200, 700, and 800. Emergency Management obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) for Certified Emergency Manager. Safety Professional specializing in Healthcare preferred. Education: Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management. OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
