Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As Sales Director, you will lead the Sales organisation of Lieferando, Germany’s largest on-demand food and convenience delivery platform. As a senior executive within the business, you will be responsible for driving the performance of our restaurant partnerships across the country, leading multiple teams that drive our commercial performance.
Reporting directly into the Lieferando Managing Director, you will deliver on Sales performance and plans, as well as working cross-functionally with the broader leadership team to own outcomes and work to deliver the country P&L.
This is a hybrid role, based out of Berlin, with some travel to partners required.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE KEY INGREDIENTS TO THE ROLE:

  • Team leadership: Lead our Sales organisation of hundreds of individuals across account management, acquisition and other functions, driving and managing performance across multiple teams. Identify and improve under-performance, enabling teams to meet and exceed core KPIs
  • Team development: Oversee our Sales Leadership team, which includes senior operators, offering support and guidance as needed. Apply best practices to unlock high performance from direct and indirect teams
  • Performance management: Establish and own Sales KPIs, setting ambitious targets and reporting regularly on progress to country and global leadership
  • Strategic development: Lead the development of our Sales strategic vision and planning, on a short-, mid- and long-term basis. Establish a data-driven vision and strategy for our Sales function
  • Strategic execution: Accountability for the timely execution of strategic initiatives, projects and programs which help us achieve our strategic vision
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team to co-define strategic initiatives, identifying prospective opportunities and gaps - especially Marketing, Logistics, Strategy and HR. Serve as a senior leader across the business, providing thought leadership and guidance as required
  • Networking and relationship-building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with our largest and strategically important partners, independently generating and driving opportunities for developing our partnerships
  • P&L ownership: Work to define the Sales budget and P&L; monitor financial performance and act as a functional business partner to Finance
  • Innovation: Provide visionary leadership, working proactively to identify potential for innovation and improvement within the Sales organisation, and Lieferando more broadly
