KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in business or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in project management and strategy development, with the ability to design, implement, and manage global, cross-BU programs and strategies.
  • Deep understanding of sector market dynamics, logistics challenges, and emerging trends.
  • General knowledge of DHL’s business models across divisions.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively at senior levels.
  • Strong commercial and marketing acumen.
  • Experience in product R&D and innovation is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in strategy development, consulting roles, and marketing-related activities.
  • Extensive project management expertise, including leading virtual and cross-functional project teams.
  • 8+ years of professional experience, with 2-3 years in leadership roles (preferred).
  • Industry expertise and prior experience in at least one DHL division (preferred).

Responsibilities

TASKS:

As Director of Sector Development for one of CSI’s focus sectors, you spearhead the development and execution of DHL’s sector strategy, working in alignment with the CSI Global Sector President and key divisional stakeholders. Your responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of strategic and operational activities:

  • Thought Leadership: Identify sector trends and their logistics implications, uncover strategic growth areas, and explore innovative product and solution opportunities to shape the sector’s direction.
  • Priority Setting: Define the sector roadmap, establishing strategic business priorities and targeted initiatives around solution development, business growth, and customer engagement.
  • Market Positioning: Develop detailed sector objectives to create a compelling go-to-market strategy, collaborating closely with the SCD marketing team on campaigns and events.
  • Project Management: Actively contribute to delivering the sector roadmap by leading or participating in cross-DHL projects and growth initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Build and nurture strong relationships with senior management across business divisions and within the CSI organization.
  • Engagement: Collaborate with senior customer representatives to enhance sector expertise, demonstrate thought leadership, and unlock business opportunities.
