Position Summary: This position is responsible for supervising all Security Services activities and personnel within an assigned geographic area. The incumbent will provide support for business operations through effective management of security operations. The position is also expected to work aggressively with local management, local law enforcement and service establishments to develop and implement proactive procedures and programs. Assist with Executive Protection duties as required. Develop, communicate and enforce security policies and procedures for employees, contractors, vendors and visitors. Principal Accountabilities: · Leadership o Provide leadership for a team of professionals located throughout the assigned geographic area including review of security operations, policies and procedures. o Manage and maintain effective working relationships at the highest level with various business partners and local law enforcement agencies throughout area of responsibility. o Develop process improvements and implement where applicable. o Plan and monitor expenditures within a budget. · Physical Security o Provide advice and assistance on security and security-related matters to senior business leaders. o Ensure safety and security of employees, contractors, vendors and visitors. o Maximize the use of limited resources through continuous review of all security functions, including physical security measures, equipment and personnel. Identify areas of vulnerability and develop/implement proactive plans and programs to address these areas and support the changing needs of the business. o Supervise and coordinate with contract security to ensure security officers are managed effectively, including facility access, monitoring alarm systems and surveillance equipment, etc. o Lead the local Crisis Response Team. o Actively support the Emergency Response program and GS Investigations in credit card fraud cases. · Executive Protection o Assist with Executive Protection and Event Planning activities as required. Breadth of Responsibility: · Position will be responsible for facilities within assigned geographic area Autonomy/Problem Solving & Decision Making: · The incumbent requires the ability to determine and establish appropriate levels of security coverage, foresee issues and plan responses for any security related events that may occur. The incumbent must possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage emergency situations. The incumbent must be able to work independently while keeping the Regional Vice President apprised of situations as they may occur. Critical Challenges/ unique Knowledge & Skills: · The incumbent must have a thorough and highly developed understanding of physical security and executive protection. A minimum of 7 years corporate security experience is required with 5 years in a management role. · Must have strong organizational, managerial and communication skills to effectively direct security activities in a culturally diverse work force and handle emergencies, crises and stressful situations calmly, quickly and professionally. · Ability to self-motivate, lead and inspire others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals together with the ability to resolve conflict and lead by example in a team-based environment.
