Director Senior Analyst, Institutional Banking
Full-time, Permanent Role
Based in Britomart, Auckland
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Portfolio Manager for Westpac Institutional Bank, you will work as part of a team of Analysts, with Relationship Managers and Relationship Support Specialists, to manage the relationships with clients. The key responsibility in this role is to manage a portfolio of Institutional accounts and provide credit assessment to determine credit risk appetite.
You will be assigned a portfolio of accounts in a set of industries to manage and be accountable for. The industries this role covers includes energy, infrastructure and utilities. You are the expert in your portfolio of industries, always abreast of developments within and its impact on our existing and potential customers. As a Senior Analyst you are a key provider of risk analysis in the origination and evaluation processes, identifying risks and issues and providing solutions.
You will proactively identify and contribute to thought pieces that will benefit your existing or potential customers. Senior Analysts are a key role within the Institutional bank and as such will be involved in leadership forums to discuss and put forward contributions to a high performing team.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Finance discipline.
  • Ideally you will have a minimum of seven years relevant banking experience, with proven experience in financial analysis, credit, banking products and the New Zealand Institutional Banking market.
  • Commercial understanding of New Zealand’s business and economic environment. Some sector experience in energy, infrastructure and/or utilities is beneficial.
  • Sound knowledge of banking products, regulatory compliance requirements, and credit risk.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal documentation is an advantage.
  • Extensive product knowledge across the Institutional space.
