Job Description Versant Media is seeking an experienced Director, Sports Media Operations to lead the management, movement, storage, and preparation of all non-live sports content across the organization. This role is ideal for a strategic and forward-thinking leader with deep experience in media asset management, post-production workflows, and the innovation of modern content infrastructure supporting sports, news, or entertainment operations. Key Responsibilities: Content Management & Operations · Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of all non-live sports content, including ingest, storage, movement, editing, and delivery. · Ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable workflows for managing media assets across production and post-production environments. · Develop and maintain standards, best practices, and documentation for content handling and asset management. Workflow Innovation & Technology Evolution · Lead the innovation and continuous improvement of non-live content workflows, driving efficiency, flexibility, and scalability. · Identify, evaluate, and implement new tools, platforms, and workflow models to support evolving content strategies. · Leverage edit platforms, cloud storage systems, and file transport technologies to modernize operations. · Introduce new workflows in a structured, responsible manner that balances innovation with operational stability and reliability. · Anticipate future content needs and emerging technologies to ensure workflows remain adaptable and future-ready. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Serve as a key liaison between Sports Media Operations, Post Production, and Ingest/Storage teams to ensure seamless handoffs and alignment. · Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand content needs, timelines, and delivery requirements. · Proactively address workflow challenges and operational risks as part of ongoing optimization efforts. Leadership & Communication · Report directly to senior leadership and provide clear visibility into content operations, priorities, and innovation initiatives. Qualifications · 6+ years of experience in content management within sports, news, or entertainment environments. · Strong understanding of non-live production and post-production workflows. · Hands-on familiarity with edit platforms, cloud-based storage systems, and file transport technologies. · Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evolve innovative workflows in live production environments. · Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. · Experience working closely with post-production, ingest, storage, and technical teams. Preferred Skills: · Experience supporting large-scale sports content operations. · Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) systems. · Knowledge of emerging cloud-based and remote post-production workflows. · Comfort piloting new technologies and processes while maintaining operational continuity.
