JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director, Strategic Accounts participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.The individual in this role translates business segment strategy into functional plans and guides the execution of the plans with the Strategic Accounts Team. Responsible for expanding and retaining named accounts, focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship, while ensuring excellent customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 plus years Strategic Sales Account experience
- 5 plus years as Sales Leader
- Experience in the Rental/OEM/Transportation, consulting, large program and account management would be an asset.
- Represent Ritchie Bros. at professional groups and trade shows.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) in English, especially when it comes to listening.
- Strong presentation, strategic thinking, negotiation and closing skills.
- A natural ability at building authentic customer relations with all levels of management.
- A head for numbers, and the ability to make sound decisions quickly in a fast-paced setting.
- Be able to operate successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous and less defined environment.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes strategic plans and objectives for the team to achieve sales goals in conjunction with Senior Management.
- Translates business segment strategy into functional plans and guides the execution of the plans with the Strategic Accounts Team to expand and retain named accounts.
- Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
- Focus on the strategic nature of the relationship, while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals.
- Develop budgets to include expenditures in support of the sales execution plan.
- Selects, develops, coaches’ team to ensure the success and efficient operation of such.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
