Job Description What is the opportunity? Interested in influencing the strategic direction of key technology capabilities at RBC? Then this is the team for you. The Office of the EVP of Innovation & Technology enables the success of the Innovation and Technology team through the delivery and oversight of strategic projects and leadership of business management, operations and risk activities. As the Director of Strategic Initiatives you will be responsible for leading strategic projects that span across the I&T organization including strategy development and product communication. What will you do? Work in collaboration with our senior leadership team to develop the future state strategies and roadmap for key strategic topics and technology capabilities (e.g. AI, data and analytics) Conduct business value analysis for key technology capabilities Develop content to clearly communicate the vision and value of our technology capabilities Define the scope, approach, successful outcomes, stakeholder engagement models, solution alternatives, and roadmaps for strategic projects and I&T Grand Challenges Lead project planning and execution, provide thought leadership and consulting to support the broader I&T leadership team Support executive reporting on behalf of the overall team on both a regular and an ad-hoc basis Define reusable assets / frameworks for the team to leverage, to ensure consistency in work products, approaches and outcomes Other duties as required What do you need to succeed? Must-have Previous consulting experience with an industry leader firm (eg. McKinsey, Deloitte, Accenture, etc) Undergraduate degree in business, technology, or similar 5-8 years of proven experience in strategy development Ability to develop content and tailor messaging for an executive audience (e.g. storyboarding/ strategic storytelling) Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to work in a fast paced environment, bring forth new perspectives and insights Expert Powerpoint skills A strong aptitude and desire for learning An understanding of how technology is used at the bank (e.g. app dev, data, AI, analytics, emerging tech, etc.) An understanding of our revenue-generating businesses Nice to have: Product Management experience What’s in it for you?
