DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC SOURCING

DaVita’s procurement team also known as PRISM (Procurement, Risk reduction, Innovation, and Supply Management) is on a multi-year journey of transforming our procurement / supply-chain / strategic sourcing process to be the best for our patients and partners and are looking for an innovative leader with Vendor Management and Supplier Diversity experience to join our leadership team.
In this vital role, reporting the Director, Strategic Sourcing, you will lead a newly formed Indirect Procurement organization that with direct leadership over several Sourcing and Purchasing Professionals. This area included several categories including Consulting & Professional Services, Facilities, Construction & Design, MRO, Contingent Labor, Travel and IT. This position will own the procurement relationship with one or more of DaVita’s key functional and/or business stakeholders.
The leadership responsibilities include leading and governing category management, sourcing strategies, process and performance improvement and delivering against the organization’s performance goals and objectives to support a broad array of procurement activities.
This role also leads or supports the development of critical processes and metrics, supplier relationships and service agreements to ensure DaVita maintains a competitive cost position. Key activities include organizational development, contract negotiations for critical programs / suppliers, problem resolution, ensuring service delivery and cost reduction/ mitigation. The position is a member of the Procurement Executive Leadership Team and must uphold the Core Values of DaVita and comply with DaVita policies and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of either Procurement / Strategic Sourcing / Supply Chain experience required
  • 8+ years of Direct / Critical Supplies / Pharma sourcing experience required
  • 3+ years of people management required
  • Experience establishing and growing a Procurement organization preferred
  • Experience with Stakeholder Management and cross functional collaboration preferred
  • Master’s degree or similar certification in Supply chain/ Procurement preferred, not required
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with corporate (Atlas) and field leaders to understand key business objectives
  • Driving Category management and Supplier Relationship Management discipline across all critical categories and suppliers.
  • Development of scorecards and forward-thinking improvements that advance DaVita’s ability to optimize our strategic sourcing capabilities and bring visibility to Indirect Procurement value across the organization and to our patients, and teammates
  • Develop new ways of working and collaborating, reducing cycle times and de-mystifying the procurement process
  • Socializing procurement value across the Enterprise and driving more spend under management – shifting towards Corporate-led Procurement
  • Develop and drive annual business plans and category playbooks for critical spend areas
  • Drive and grow partnership with 3rd party extended team to drive cost savings
  • Support, collaborate and influence all Business lanes engaged in procurement activities on the Indirect Procurement vision and approach to ensure that the business case for procurement is understood and sufficiently supported by the appropriate stakeholders
  • Represent the company externally to engage and identify diverse suppliers
  • Provide insight in defining future state procurement process, technology and tools related to strategic sourcing
  • Travel required up to 20%
