As Director, Strategy, Investments and IT Supplier Management, you’ll be a strategic powerhouse for the Technology and Projects Executive Division. You’ll help define the IT vision, maximize investment and build sustainable supplier partnerships to drive the performance of technologies and projects for Desjardins Group. As part of the Project Management Office and IT Governance and Risk Division, the Strategy, Investments and IT Supplier Management Administrative Department works as a key strategic partner to ensure that the Technology and Projects Executive Division is aligned with Desjardins Group’s objectives and goals. As director of this administrative department, you are ultimately responsible and manage teams to define the cross-sector IT strategy, ensure proactive management of IT investments and efficiency, and oversee the management of IT suppliers in accordance with organizational and market requirements. Your leadership will maximize the business value of the Technology and Projects Executive Division and the business sectors and support functions, while reducing IT risks. You’ll promote alignment through partnerships, particularly with the finance and procurement teams. The scope of your activities and strategic levels involve a complexity that requires a broad degree of knowledge as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Facilitate the development of the IT strategy and execution plan for the Technology and Projects Executive Division
  • Provide an integrated IT strategic vision by consolidating sector strategies (IT officers) and strategies for the Chief Technology Officer, Operations and Architecture (CTO)
  • Contribute to the executive division’s strategic communications and translate the IT strategy into clear, engaging messages for stakeholders
  • Prioritize and track the value of infrastructure and cross-sector IT services investment projects
  • Carefully align IT investments with priority needs to ensure the stability, sustainability and achievement of strategic objectives
  • Oversee the governance of the Technology and Projects Executive Division’s efficiency plan and implement an IT cost governance framework
  • Closely monitor contracts as part of a robust operational governance approach aligned with IT requirements
  • Oversee IT supplier performance, promote service excellence and reduce risks throughout the contract life cycle
  • Monitor best practices in supplier management and identify drivers to optimize costs, consolidate services and reduce redundancy

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, administration or a related field
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience, including five years in a management role
  • Other relevant combinations of education and experience may be considered, including IT executive and cross-functional strategy, and IT supplier management
  • Experience managing multiple multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in a role involving a comfort level in dealing with senior management and executives
  • Experience in a role requiring clear communication of expectations and the ability to prioritize and explain complexities in simple terms
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Knowledge of information technology operations
