Description
About the role (You can make a showerhead or a spritz feel culturally relevant) We’re looking for a Director/Supervisor for earned media strategy who knows how to make the everyday interesting and the niche feel like a moment. Candidates must specialize in earned media and be considered a subject matter expert in current role (regardless of current title). You live for the pitch. The kind that makes an editor pause or a creator text back immediately. You’ve got the relationships to back it up across lifestyle, consumer, design, business, and food and beverage, and you move easily between traditional media and the newer guard like Substack, podcasts, creators, and group chats. You understand that a great story can come from anywhere. A bathroom upgrade. A new flavor launch. A backyard bar setup. A perfectly timed cultural hook. Curious, collaborative, and a little scrappy, you’re here to make brands feel like they belong in culture, not just in coverage. For this role, we’re looking for someone with hands-on experience across consumer categories, especially CPG (food, beverage, alcohol), lifestyle, and home brands. Experience spanning both packaged goods and durable consumer products is a strong plus. What you bring Entrepreneurial spirit – collaborative, flexible, innovative, and future-focused Problem-solving mindset – strategic, calm under pressure, able to navigate challenges big and small Creative energy – pop culture–savvy, marketing-obsessed, and eager to brainstorm Accountability & attention to detail – high standards for yourself and your team, delivering high quality results You might be a fit if You have 6 to 8 years of experience and can run a program start to finish without missing a beat You have worked across consumer brands, ideally including home, CPG, food and beverage, and/or alcohol Experience with beverage and/or alcohol brands is a plus, and you know how to make everyday products feel relevant and exciting. You have strong media relationships and can pick up the phone (or DM) with confidence You can turn a big idea into a pitch, a press hit, and a story people notice You care about the details, the culture, and doing work you are proud of You are a good human who works hard, collaborates well, and thrives in a team that treats people well You are flexible and curious, ready to jump in wherever you’re needed You think like people, not just brands, and can see things from multiple perspectives You want to grow with a team that values kindness and doing great work together What you'll do Turn Products Into Stories: Lead earned-first campaigns for brands across a range of consumer categories, with particular strength in home, CPG, food and beverage, and lifestyle, finding the tension, the hook, and the reason anyone should care. Pitch With Taste: Build smart, culturally aware stories and get them placed. You know who to call, when to DM, and when to move. Stay Ahead of the Curve: Consumer trends, design trends, drink trends, internet trends. You are on it early and know how to connect the dots. Be a Trusted Voice: Guide clients with earned strategy and confidence. Make them feel both comfortable and challenged in a good way. Raise the Bar Internally: Mentor and coach junior talent, contribute to new business, and help shape the work we want to be known for. Roll Up Your Sleeves: From hands-on execution to high level strategy, you are equally comfortable digging into the details and elevating the work for clients and the team. Operate Big and Small: Lead with strategy and creativity while jumping into the day-to-day. You see the forest and the trees and know how to move both.
