This role oversees supply chain and data science initiatives that drive informed decision making and improve organizational outcomes. The Director partners closely with Operations and Clinical leaders to ensure data driven insights inform strategy, performance, and patient care excellence. Job Responsibilities: Strategy & Vision 1. Develops and executes long-term data strategy leveraging AI, machine learning, and automation 2. Cultivates a data-driven culture that empowers leaders to make evidence-based decisions 3. Partners with executive leadership to identify opportunities where data can optimize operational performance 4. Participates in governance councils and cross-functional initiatives to align AI and analytics priorities with enterprise goals Analytics & Modeling 1. Oversees development of predictive and prescriptive analytics models to forecast spend, supply chain risks, and productivity opportunities 2. Ensures analytic outputs are actionable, ethically applied, and compliant with regulatory standards (including HIPAA and internal data governance) 3. Collaborates with external partners to supplement internal data and analytics Reporting & Communication 1. Guides the creation of intuitive dashboards and executive reports that highlight key metrics 2. Translates complex data into clear, compelling narratives that drive strategic conversations and organizational change 3. Promotes transparency and clarity in analytics communications for operational and clinical stakeholders People & Team Development 1. Coaches and mentors the BA&DC team to advance technical proficiency and consultative impact Governance & Data Quality 1. Establishes best practices for data quality, consistency, and interpretation across the enterprise 2. Ensures all analytics solutions adhere to Emory's data privacy, accuracy, and ethical standards Additional Duties as Assigned Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required. Employee Type: Remote Worker Minimum Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, STEM, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field. Experience: 7+ experience with data science, research statistics, business analysis, or database systems in healthcare and 5+ years in a leadership role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Demonstrated experience building and leading analytics and data science teams, including oversight of model development, experimentation, and statistical validation. 2. Proven success in translating analytics and predictive modeling into measurable business outcomes within healthcare. 3. Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple operational systems (e.g., EHR, ERP). 4. Experience with Cloud environment and services. 5. Familiarity with data protection and privacy, data ethics, and data governance issues. 6. Strong, demonstrated skills in writing and presentation of findings and analyses. 7. Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets and telling a compelling story that tracks to value. 8. Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI); experience with APIs, Python/R, and large-scale SQL-based analytics. 9. Strong understanding of data governance, ethical use of Data/AI, and privacy regulations (HIPAA experience is a significant plus). 10. Strategic thinking, change leadership, stakeholder engagement, and ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical audiences. 11. Exceptional executive communication skills, ability to synthesize technical complexity into strategic narrative for C-suite audiences. 12. Proven ability to lead cross-functional, matrixed teams and collaborate effectively with both business users and technical teams. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in STEM, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
