UPMC Washington is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Director of Surgical & Perioperative Services. In partnership with the Vice President of Operations, this role will lead the delivery of exceptional patient care by analyzing and refining clinical and operational processes to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care that meets regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Oversee quality improvement, patient safety, and satisfaction initiatives, implementing changes as needed.
• Drive operational efficiency by analyzing processes, managing resources, and leading change efforts.
• Partner with physicians, staff, and stakeholders to achieve clinical, operational, and financial goals.
• Support staff development through orientation, education, and professional growth opportunities.
• Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations aligned with strategic priorities.
• BSN required
• Relevant Master’s degree required
• Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred
• Five years of progressively increasing management experience in a healthcare facility and/or healthcare field requiredLICENSURE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND CLEARANCES:National Nurse Executive Certification preferredBLS required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
• Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
