This role sits within the sustainability products group, a new business line building research and data products on the company’s existing research platform. The team is small, senior and building from the ground up, with direct influence over methodology, product design and how the function is staffed and run. This Director owns the norms screening product. During the build, the role is the lead domain expert: co-developing the assessment methodology, setting the quality standard, and shaping the guidance that both the research team and the AI pipeline apply. Post-launch, the role runs the product operationally, covering assessment quality, the research call process, methodology evolution and, over time, a small team of domain analysts. The defining requirement is judgment. The product’s credibility rests on assessment calls that are consistent, well evidenced and defensible to clients and issuers, including on politically difficult cases. This role is where those calls are made or approved. This role is permanent and hybrid, based out of our Timișoara office, with regular in-person attendance three days a week.  * Senior experience in norms-based screening or closely related ESG research, ideally having led a research function or product in an established screening operation. * Working command of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the UN Guiding Principles and the underlying conventions, with a track record of applying them to contested cases. * Demonstrated ability to make and defend assessment calls under scrutiny, with clients and with issuers. * Experience managing analysts and setting research quality standards. * Interest in AI-assisted research and the ability to articulate domain requirements to engineers. A technical background is not required. * Clear, plain writing. Assessments in this product are read by clients and challenged by companies. * Comfort operating in a build environment where the methodology, the tooling and the team are being created at the same time. * Own the GCM product operationally: assessment quality, methodology evolution, the release cycle and product decisions. * Oversee research calls. Review and approve assessment proposals and status changes, ensure consistency with the methodology and the precedent base, and take direct responsibility for the most difficult and precedent-setting cases. * Act as senior domain expert across issue areas, including human rights, labour rights, the environment and business ethics. * Co-develop the assessment methodology and indicator-level guidance, and translate it into instructions that analysts and the AI pipeline can apply consistently. * Work with knowledge engineering to improve the AI-assisted assessment chain: identify where system output falls short of the methodology and articulate what needs to change. * Run quality assurance, including blind reviews, consistency audits and monitoring of analyst override rates. * Oversee the company contact process for status changes. * Build and lead a small team of domain analysts over time, including hiring, development and allocation of issue-area ownership. * Support client conversations on methodology and defend assessments where they are challenged. * Contribute domain input to the design of adjacent products in the suite. We’ve built a culture where people genuinely enjoy working together. Collaboration is at the heart of how we operate. You’ll be part of a team that shares knowledge, supports each other, and celebrates wins collectively. We hold ourselves to a high standard and take accountability seriously, always in a way that brings out the best in people.   This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in Sustainability Products & Research and make an impact on work that matters.   Join our team and contribute to Sustainability Products & Research.
