The role oversees faculty support for innovative, technology-enabled instruction and student-focused programs that drive engagement, learning, and retention. The Director sets direction for pedagogical development, educational technology, open educational resources, and the learning management system, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and continuous, data-informed improvement. They also manage key academic and transition initiatives (e.g., LEAP, UPrep, academic integrity), and contribute to policy, training, and cross-campus collaboration to strengthen teaching and learning. Nature of work: The success candidate will lead university-wide teaching and learning strategy to enhance instructional quality and student success, overseeing faculty support, educational technology, and student-focused programs. The Director engages faculty, academic leaders, students, and campus partners to drive innovation, alignment, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities/accountabilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Teaching and Learning Centre, advancing initiatives that enhance teaching excellence and student success Develop and execute a Centre-wide strategic plan aligned with institutional priorities, and assess the impact and effectiveness of programs and services Build strong partnerships with faculties, academic leaders, and student support units to advance teaching and learning priorities and support student success Lead the design and delivery of professional development that promotes innovative, technology-enabled teaching practices Drive the development of online and hybrid learning strategies, fostering innovation and effective integration of emerging technologies Oversee instructional development initiatives, including educational media, microcredentials, open education, and student transition programs Manage the Centre’s budget and resources, ensuring effective allocation and alignment with strategic and financial goals Required Skills: Knowledgeable of learning theory and evidence-information teaching practices, including use of technology to enhance learning Demonstrated competence in working collaboratively with university personnel and students Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams Evidence of innovation and creativity, as well as excellent organizational and critical thinking skills Demonstrated commitment to student success and learner support Strong knowledge of learning outcomes at both the course and program levels Ability to supports equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenization in the learning environment and acknowledges the diverse ideas and the interests of all stakeholders in decision making Familiarity with faculty roles and expectations Strong interpersonal and team skills Demonstrated ability to lead strategic, institution-wide teaching and learning initiatives and drive organizational change Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and indigenization in higher education Expertise in data-informed decision-making, learning analytics, and program evaluation Exceptional relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills across diverse stakeholders Required Education: Completion of a university program consisting of four academic years Master's or PhD degree preferred An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered * Verification of Academic credentials may be required Required Experience: 7-10 years leadership experience in a post-secondary environment, university preferred Teaching experience at the university level How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit in electronic format a covering letter and their resume.
