POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Technical Program Management. This leader will be accountable for driving technical planning end-to-end through a complex transformation, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, managing financials, building and maintaining the program schedule, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues. The Director will partner closely with engineering, product, and business leadership to ensure program objectives are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 10+ years in technical program or project management, overseeing large-scale, complex transformation programs.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, software development lifecycles, cloud/migration initiatives, or large-scale systems integration.
  • Program Management Skills: Demonstrated success in building schedules, managing budgets, forecasting financials, and driving execution across multiple workstreams.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proven ability to anticipate, identify, and address risks and issues with data-driven decision-making.
  • Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills; ability to operate at executive levels and with technical teams alike.
  • Certifications: PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent program management certifications preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Own end-to-end program planning and execution for a major transformation initiative, aligning technology, business, and operational teams around shared goals.
  • Technical Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed program roadmaps, schedules, dependencies, and milestones to ensure successful delivery.
  • Financial Management: Oversee program budgets and forecasts, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies; develop mitigation plans; escalate when needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Governance & Reporting: Establish program governance structures, operating rhythms, and reporting mechanisms to provide transparency at the executive level.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, architecture, product, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility, alignment, and execution discipline.
  • Change Management & Transformation Enablement: Support organizational readiness, ensuring the program’s technical changes are embedded and adopted effectively.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Build, lead, and mentor a team of program managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
