PCG is hiring an experienced Director to drive business development efforts and lead management consulting engagements across our US Northeast region. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a passion for public sector innovation and a track record of delivering impactful solutions to state and local government clients.
The Director is responsible for client relationship management, identifying new revenue opportunities, and managing consulting teams. This role requires a broad understanding of technology solutions employed by public sector agencies and the candidate should be versed in project management, technical writing, and proposal management.
The Director recruits, hires, and develops consulting resources to support the regional Business Unit and the national Practice Area. The Director is responsible for ensuring the Business Unit meets financial and organizational targets while cultivating a high-functioning team necessary to navigate a competitive consulting environment.

The Director is expected to:

  • Drive Business Development – Cultivate client relationships, apply sales acumen to expand existing projects, and launch new initiatives. Identify emerging opportunities that generate business and financial value. Lead proposal development and manage responses to RF(x) opportunities.
  • Lead Resource Management – Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to build a high-performing team with diverse capabilities and perspectives. Inspire and motivate staff to achieve individual and collective success.
  • Champion Collaboration – Build support for strategic opportunities, proposals, and initiatives. Actively contribute to the growth of the Business Unit and Practice Area through cross-functional engagement and shared ownership.
  • Own Risk Management – Proactively manage strategic, financial, and operational risks across all responsibilities. Integrate quality assurance, project oversight, and client satisfaction into a unified risk mitigation approach.
  • Deliver Projects – Lead or support project execution through analysis, deliverable creation, and performance reporting. Communicate progress clearly and consistently to stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be based in the US Northeast Region, preferably the Albany, Boston, or New York City metro areas.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in management consulting or technology consulting.
  • At least five (5) years of experience developing, bidding, and winning public sector management consulting or technology services engagements.
  • At least five (5) years of experience providing any of the following state and local government services: planning, procurement, project management, quality assurance (QA) or Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), solution implementation, or system integration.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects with fiscal year revenues exceeding $1M.
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage a team of people.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University.

This position is hybrid with travel/onsite requirements. To be successful at PCG, you must:

  • be available during your set working hours
  • have a safe, private, and distraction-free environment in which to complete your work, and
  • be able to give your full attention to the completion of your PCG job duties

Some travel to the office or elsewhere may be required for team meetings, client meetings, etc. We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $135,000-165,000.
