Champion the Evolution of Total Rewards And Shape a Future-Ready Workplace  Where Equity, Performance and People Thrive Together  (12-month Contract) The Director, Total Rewards will lead the strategic review and modernization of CPA Ontario’s comprehensive compensation and rewards programs.  The Director will review and update CPA Ontario’s compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent, and to ensure compliance with new legislation.  The Director will drive job title and level architecture, update and refresh salary bands, benchmark organizational roles, and prepare the organization for pay transparency legislation. Your expertise empowers you to: Develop compensation strategy & structure: Review job titles and leveling frameworks to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with business objectives and organizational goals. Collect and analyze market salary data to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices. Refresh and maintain salary bands across all functions, ensuring alignment with market trends and internal equity, and compliance with legislation and regulations. Develop and implement strategies to support pay transparency readiness and obligations, including communication frameworks and evolving legislation. Evaluate new and evolving job descriptions to determine appropriate pay level. Manage and deliver yearly pay increases that are market driven and consistent across the organization.  Evaluate short-term incentive program: including eligibility criteria, market competitiveness, employee performance metrics, payout structure and communication strategies. and make recommendations for change in alignment with business goals. Manage stakeholders and vendors: Partner with Senior Leadership, relevant Committees, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and support. Manage relationships with external consultants and vendors. Track data & analytics: to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and inform data-driven decision-making.  Maintain program governance & compliance: Ensure all compensation practices comply with organizational policies and practices, and with provincial and federal regulations under Ontario’s Pay Equity Act. You are the ideal candidate if: Education and Experience:   You bring deep expertise in compensation strategy, data-driven decision-making, and incentive design, with a minimum of 8 - 10 years post-qualification experience, preferably within a regulatory or compliance environment, with 3 - 5 of those years being in a leadership role. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, and ideally, a Master’s degree or MBA. You hold your Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designations, and a designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) would be preferred. Proven skills and abilities:    Results: You have a proven track record of exceeding goals accomplished with your strong work ethic and ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of experience, and sound judgment. You have demonstrated progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and total rewards.  You have significant experience with reviewing, designing and implementing short-term incentive programs, salary structures, title and level framework development, Canadian compensation data source, market benchmarking, salary banding, pay equity and pay transparency compliance, and preparing organizations for compliance.   Leadership: You have proven leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and are able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and partners. Resilience: You have a proven ability to drive multiple projects forward with a relentless focus on delivery. You are able to navigate issues and gain support without adversely affecting timelines and outcomes.  Communications Skills: You are a strong communicator capable of synthesizing complex issues and conveying information to all levels of internal and external stakeholders, senior management teams and partners in a clear and concise manner. You serve effectively as the face of the organization. You are eexperienced in planning communications and identifying knowledge gaps to support changes in compensation programs. Diplomacy, Interpersonal and Relationship Building Skills: You are effective in dealing fairly, frankly, assertively, and professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
