JOB REQUIREMENTS

CAI is looking for a Director, Translational Science within the Client Services team of the Real World Data business unit. The Director will provide strategic guidance and will have the opportunity to define and implement the suite of services offerings to support our Translational360 product. In this role, the Director will oversee the team responsible for implementation and analytic product support for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients utilizing Transloational360 and other clinicogenomic and clinicomolecular data assets. The successful candidate will have experience effectively communicating both technical and conceptual metric definitions and demonstrating the utility of data assets to development programs and lifecycle management. Deep knowledge of oncology and hands-on experience working with data from a various types of tumor biomarker data (e.g., gene expression, RNA expression, FISH, etc.) is required. The candidate will be expected to quickly develop a deep understanding of all CAI data products and technology platforms. This role reports to the VP, Real World Evidence Services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors combined with relevant experience or Masters/PhD or equivalent in a quantitative field such as computational biology, bioinformatics, health informatics, clinical data science, genetics or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in life sciences or biotech industry in a data Science/ clinical data analyst role
  • Client-facing experience such as presentation of trainings, leading office hours or study meetings, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of genetics, molecular biology and sequencing technologies.
  • Experience with NGS data analysis
  • Experience with clinical data, electronic health records (EHR) and real-world data (RWD)
  • Working knowledge of Python or R, and SQL
  • Working knowledge of Git/GitHub
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to ‘translate’ between the data and the business, via layman’s
  • terminology of complex analytical methods
  • Excellent time management skills: prioritizing across competing timelines, contributing to multiple projects,
  • and updating team members on deliverable expectations
  • Collaborative attitude with on-the-job teaching/learning/skill sharing
  • Comfortable with ambiguity/flexibility
  • Excellent listener and strategic independent thinker/worker.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD BE A PLUS:

  • People management experience
  • Working knowledge of linux/cloud computing/hpc-applicable languages.
  • Professional experience using dbt (data build tool)
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of translational scientists offering product support.
  • Work cross-functionally with members of the Product. Engineering, Data Operations, Informatics, and Sales teams to support a seamless client experience.
  • Support broader Client Services team in establishing and maintaining key partner stakeholder relationships at the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, with particular focus in clinicogenomic/clinicomolecular data
  • Oversee office hours and develop and lead trainings in key topics of interest
  • Prioritize internal efforts in biomarker data model development
  • Conduct and QC product analytics, measure data quality metrics, and ensure maintenance of thorough documentation
  • Scale existing business analytics logic into reusable data assets for downstream technology solutions
  • Maintain billable utilization targets and track utilization against contracted commitments
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Client Partners to expand accounts and to meet internal business unit metrics
  • Lead or support internally driven publications to showcase the value and impact of translational data offerings
