Job Title: Director, Transportation & Donations Strategy FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt Pay Range: $120,000 - $145,000 /annually Location: Hybrid - Evergreen Goodwill Headquarters & Virtual Position Summary The Director of Transportation and Donations Strategy at Evergreen Goodwill will lead the strategic planning and execution of all transportation and logistics operations across Northwest Washington. They are also responsible for the five ADC (Attended Donation Centers) locations as well. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of donated goods, retail inventory, and supplies between donation centers, stores, and warehouses—supporting Goodwill’s mission to provide job training and education to the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement logistics and donation strategies that align with Evergreen Goodwill’s operational goals and community impact mission. Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, routing, scheduling, and driver safety programs. Lead and mentor a team of transportation and donation leadership, supervisors, dispatchers, and drivers. Collaborate with retail, donation, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and service quality. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and internal policies. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate transportation-related contracts. Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing routes and reducing environmental impact. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in logistics and transportation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing fleet operations and logistics in a multi-site retail or nonprofit environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Attributes Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations Valid Washington Driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test. PMP certificate or other project management training preferred Computer/Technology Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint). Experience with project management software (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project). Ability to learn and use internal Evergreen Goodwill systems as needed. Physical Abilities Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40-50 pounds, occasionally above head level. Capable of traveling across various surfaces including stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain. Effective communication with other teams through talking and hearing in English is essential. The ability to communicate with individuals who may have limited English proficiency. Maintain reliable attendance as per company policies and expectations.
