Responsibilities

PURPOSE

As a Director, FinTech & Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Treasury Management Officer (TMO), you will play a pivotal role in driving business development, sales, and relationship management. Your primary focus will be on expanding and deepening client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored financial solutions that align with client needs. You will actively prospect and acquire new clients within the FinTech and PSP industry, develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets, and identify cross-selling opportunities to promote Scotiabank’s full suite of Global Transaction Banking (GTB) products and services.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and single point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships by understanding their business objectives and financial needs. You will collaborate with Corporate & Investment Bankers (CIBs) to offer comprehensive financial solutions and leverage your industry expertise to introduce clients to strategic partners. Additionally, you will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight to ensure compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, while driving business growth and achieving annual revenue targets exceeding $40 million.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead a team of Associate Directors to develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new transaction banking business, while strategically managing and expanding existing client relationships to maximize revenue growth.
  • Serving as the primary transaction banking relationship contact for CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers, to provide integrated transaction banking solutions within a consultative and client driven framework.
  • Leading the delivery of thought leadership to the market, prospects, and clients, in collaboration with solution/product partners on all transaction banking related topics at client roundtables, industry conferences, webinars, and client events.
  • Responsible for delivering a seamless end to end client experience through effective stakeholder management and collaboration with solutions specialists and leading business process reviews aligned to key client sales opportunities.
  • Effectively communicates to an executive audience to build internal alignment and support of PSP portfolio and client objectives, including approval of new PSP onboardings or changes to existing PSP relationships.
  • Sharing industry leading best practices, ideas, and strategies while partnering with internal product stakeholders to represent the client perspective in the development and evolution of complex products and solutions.
  • Leading relationship capital allocation, RoRWA returns and pricing strategy and discussions with internal partners.
  • Collaborating with key partners including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Operations, Fulfillment and Servicing.
  • Responsible for collaborating with internal partners to keep abreast of the banks’ framework for managing inherent risks associated with the Payment Intermediary space and that clients are assessed against the banks risk framework throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the PSP/payment intermediary industry through understanding of regulatory requirements, AML/Compliance best practices, payment trends and advances, and enhanced client due diligence.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
