Responsibilities

PURPOSE

Contributes to the success of the US Investment Grade Cash Trading Desk which is a part of Global Fixed Income ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support the Debt Capital Markets franchise through trading in the secondary bond market
  • Drive revenue and trading volumes through interactions with our clients and prudent risk taking
  • Fosters new and existing client relationships in addition to cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Manage trading inventories and generate trading revenues in compliance with limits and the bank’s risk profile.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
