About the Role: The Director of Visual Design leads a team of senior creative professionals, shaping and communicating the visual design strategy across the organization. This role is responsible for team development, hiring, and resource planning for major initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Customer Focus

  • Anticipate trends and understand customer needs and behaviors.
  • Align design strategy with both customer expectations and organizational goals.
  • Analyze how different customer segments define and perceive value.

Creative Leadership

  • Ensure the right talent is aligned to the right challenges.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and critical thinking.
  • Guide the team in solving complex design problems and testing solutions.

Design Strategy & Collaboration

  • Lead a user-centered visual design process with consistency and clarity.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and represent visual design in cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with UX Research and UX Design leadership.

Data-Informed Design

  • Use data to shape design strategy and measure impact.
  • Identify gaps in data and introduce tools to support analysis and testing.
  • Ensure iterative design based on insights and feedback.

Technical Oversight

  • Maintain strong knowledge of the organization’s design tools and technology.
  • Support team development through training and skill-matching.
  • Manage software licensing and tool access.

Requirements:

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in visual design or related fields.
  • A degree in design, psychology, HCI, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading design teams and delivering impactful visual strategies.
