ABOUT THE ROLE: SNAPSHOT: The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for directing and overseeing the entire Fulfillment Process - all inbound and outbound warehouse operations, including product receiving, stocking, inventory management, replenishment, order selection, loading, and shipping. This role includes being a direct leader with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills committed to efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. DETAILS: LOCATION: Port Allen, Louisiana – Lyons Warehouse / Distribution Office DEPARTMENT: Warehouse Operations REPORTS TO: VP of Operations COMPENSATION: Salary BENEFITS: Health, Dental, Vision, Basic Life, Short/Long Term Disability, PTO, 401(K) COMMITMENT: Full-Time: Monday – Friday (Occasional weekend work may be required during holidays or inclement weather conditions causing schedule changes and/or delays). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT Lead and optimize daily warehouse operations, including coaching and developing warehouse management teams as well as other warehouse team members. Build and manage a strong working relationship with Team Members. Provide direction, leadership, and communicate issues to supervisors and/or other team members. Determine and provide training and development of team members as needed. Maintain accountability for staff hiring, training, performance evaluations, pay increases, team member development, and disciplinary actions and terminations when necessary. Weekly leadership and operations meetings ensuring the alignment and execution of company goals. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise both 1st and 2nd shift Leads and Supervisors and indirect team members of 45-50 team members. Participates in the hiring and training of departmental supervisors. Plan, assign and delegate tasks, manage workloads, conduct performance evaluations, address complaints, and resolve problems in accordance with company policies and procedures. Manage labor hours, supplies, and work schedules to stay within company budgets. OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT Oversee the daily operation of the warehouse to ensure it continuously functions in a productive cost-effective manner and observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries. Maintain working knowledge of all Warehouse Management Systems and processes ensuring accurate receiving, stocking, inventory, order selecting, and loading. Develop and implement best practices for warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment. Oversee all inbound freight operations and outbound shipments, including carrier relationships, scheduling, documentation, claims, and returns. Ensure the ongoing safety, housekeeping, maintenance, and security of the warehouse, equipment. and building and grounds. Drive process improvement and cost saving initiatives by evaluating current processes, identifying best practices, and developing plans to reach goals and implement improvements, Cross-functional team collaborations to support business goals and objectives-including IT, HR, Purchasing, Sales, Foodservice, AP, Transportation, and Customer Service. comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements ABOUT YOU: PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. 5+ years progressive experience in Warehouse, Wholesale Distribution, Supply Chain, or Logistics Management, with a minimum of 3 years in a Director level role. Advanced computer skills, ability to navigate ERP, Warehouse Management System platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Extensive Knowledge in EXCEL and Teams is a must). Experienced with Conveyor / Sortation Equipment. Power Industrial Equipment Certification. KEY ABILITIES & SKILLS: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills. Interact effectively with all levels of management and employees through communication in-person, over-the-phone, and in-writing. Strong Communication, Presentation, Analytical and Reporting skills are a must. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment – produce accurate, timely and valuable work with a high level of attention to detail. Time management, organizational, and delegation skills. Self-motivated and hardworking. Sense of teamwork and the ability to execute programs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Requires physical labor including standing, walking, sitting, and reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods. Full-time – Warehouse / Office based role. Exposure to varying temperatures, moderate noise levels, moving mechanical equipment.
