LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS

  • Through persuasion or example, motivates and influences members of reporting divisions toward the achievement of desired objectives

  • Ability to effectively manage on a daily basis
  • Ability to speak clearly in regard to questions about billing, programming, facilities, and various other issues regarding Wellness Facility
  • Knowledge of fitness testing and exercise prescription principles such as body composition, exercise blood pressures and heart rates, stress testing, ECG interpretation, and exercise prescription for various health needs
  • Knowledge of the fitness industry including trending, equipment, and membership retention
  • Effective interpersonal skills; oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

Required Experience: 3 years management experience in a health/wellness facility.
Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multi-lingual, master’s degree)]
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion or Business Administration/Management
Certification/Licensure: CPR certification through American Heart Association: BLS or Heartsaver with AED or American Red Cross with AED

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years upper level management experience in a Wellness Center
  • Experience with budgeting

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE:

All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), organizes, directs, coordinates, staffs, and controls a range of activities related to the Wellness Center, Cardiac Rehabilitation, so as to accomplish the goals and objectives of those departments. Additionally, provides oversight of the Corporate Wellness Coordinator related to the development and packaging of KHI services to the corporate community. Initiates continuous Quality Improvement projects on an ongoing basis so as to improve key aspects of care or service.

Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]

  • Responsible for maximizing net revenue and controlling facility cost, and adhering to facility budgetary guidelines
  • Ensures that programs and services offered are provided in accordance with standards of excellence
  • Responsible for ensuring customer expectations and service are aligned with KHI’s Mission and Vision
  • Responsible for positive employee relations throughout the facility
  • Facilitate and develop partnerships with physicians and other health care professionals
  • Develop, review, and implement facility goals and objectives with staff
  • Oversees the integration of Wellness Services with all divisions throughout the organization
  • Demonstrates a commitment to regularly assess and improve health status of the community that the Center serves
  • Designs, implements, create, and update website information for assigned areas
  • Support and facilitate the matching of the health and wellness needs of our corporate community with KHI services and practitioners who can help to address those needs
  • Partner with other stakeholders to ‘package,’ price, and organize the delivery of KHI services that create value to both KHI and area businesses
  • Provide oversight to the Wellness Services Coordinator and assisting with prioritizing corporate outreach activities, tracking and measuring success, and offering feedback and encouragement in an effort to optimize the incumbent’s effectiveness
  • Performs other duties as assigned

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Direct the Wellness Center, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Corporate Wellness Services for the organization
  • Oversee the delivery of service and the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures throughout the organization
  • Ensure that the delivery of care and services in the Wellness Center, Cardiac Rehab and Corporate Wellness Services meets Federal, State, DNV, and other regulatory/accreditation requirements. Ensures that KHI policies and procedures are followed
  • Develops and implements a system of care for patients that include staffing patterns based on patient/customer needs
  • Reviews and monitors work schedules, work hours, and duty assignments of personnel
  • Investigates irregularities in the delivery of care or service, policy violations, etc., and takes corrective action when necessary
  • Ensures that department personnel are properly oriented, trained, in serviced, and evaluated including age specific topics within established periods
  • Ensure employee evaluations are completed in a timely manner
  • Create a management structure that can meet assigned tasks in an effective, efficient manner
  • Participates in professional growth and encourages professional growth in others
  • Provides and facilitates the training, tools and ongoing support needed to promote the success of the Physician and Corporate Liaison
  • Ensure that sound fiscal and budgeting policies be established and followed and that services are provided without waste of either labor or supplies
  • Develops and recommends to the COO operational and capital expenditure budgets for Wellness Services on an annual basis in accordance with established deadlines
  • Provide feedback to the COO concerning department’s financial performance on a regular basis Recommends adjustments or exceptions to the budget when unexpected or unusual circumstances arise
  • Evaluates past and current conditions, and then recommends a course of action, which will promote the development of Wellness, Cardiac Rehab, and Corporate Wellness Services
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends the necessary resources (personnel, supplies, facilities, etc.) to facilitate improvements in Wellness, Cardiac Rehab, and Corporate Wellness Services
  • Working with the Public Relations Department, promotes Wellness, Cardiac Rehab, and Corporate Wellness Services as well as emphasizes community health education and health promotion activities.
