Description Head Start Birth-5 has an opening for a part-time Disability Aide position working 28 hours per week. This position will be utilized to provide support to children with disabilities in the assigned Head Start Birth-5 classroom and on the playground. The work hours and tasks may vary on any given day from classroom to classroom, center to center, as a Cook, or custodial duties depending on the schedule or as assigned to assist with support and coverage in the centers. This position will assist in the completion of required developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings within the required time period. Complete duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, CACFP Guidelines, and Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedures Manual. Applicants must possess good communication skills with children and families and display positive interaction with infants, toddlers, and preschool children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Requirements A High School diploma or equivalent required; experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children preferred. Obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) within one year of hire. LHDC may provide on the job training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary. Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
